The current Strand Celtic FC crest was developed in 2012 to update the crest and to align the canon with our local canon at the seafront. The canon remains the key feature of our crest and can be viewed at the seafront in Strandhill. The crest was designed by local artist and former club player Dan Leydon.
It replaced an earlier draft that was in place for one year and for which the feedback was not that positive. The earlier version even had a Facebook campaign setup by some of our young players to change it. The original canon was copied from the Arsenal gun on the club’s establishment in 1972 and remained for many years.
