A big thank you to Shells Seaside Bakery Café who hosted our latest Strandhill Community Park 50 / 50 draw for August and September recently. Shells has become an institution on the sea front in Strandhill in recent years and have also come in as title sponsor for the Strand Celtic soccer camps led by Cormac Correia.

Cormac is pictured with Megan Bohan and Amber Kenny from Shells who along with Lauryn Doyle drew the following lucky winners:

August winners

€300 Keith Moran, Sligo
€200 John Bartlett, Strandhill
€100 Mark Cummins, Strandhill
€100 Willie O’Neill, Strandhill

September winners

€300 Damien McCallion, Strandhill
€200 Paul Heekin, Strandhill
€100 Catherine Porter, Strandhill
€100 Sarah Whelan, Seafield

A big thank you and welcome to new members who have joined in recent months. We are aiming to get to 200 members so that we can continue to make improvements to the park, which has most recently seen the addition of new outdoor gym equipment as well as repairs and upgrading of the children’s play area thanks to grants from Sligo Leader and funds raised from Strandhill’s Fittest Family.

We are edging closer to 150 draw members which will push the monthly prize fund up to €750 with €350 for the first out of the hat and €200 for second, so please continue to like, share and comment on the draw on your social media accounts and help get all the community behind the park development.

To enter the 50/50 Development draw simply click on the link below:

The draw only costs €10 each month - the equivalent cost of a cup of coffee each week !

Our target is to get 200 people so that we can service the debt on the park development and continue to improve the facilities.

When you have signed up we are encouraging everyone to use the hashtag #StrandhillIveSignedUp to use on their social media and to promote the draw

The draw takes place each month and winners will be contacted by phone with results published across the club’s social media channels.

The park development draw supports the bank loans which the club have taken on to develop and maintain the community park in Strandhill. The club has invested €1.3m in the park since its inception and has recently completed a €250,000 project which includes a floodlit community walkway, spectator facilities and convert the park into an environmentally friendly park - called ECO Park.

The 50/50 draw is very simple. 50% of the income is paid out in prize money each month ! This is unusual as it is a high percentage but the club wants to ensure good prize money for those joining the draw.

We now have almost 150 people signed up so please pass on the message on your social media and help get all the community behind the park development.
