As part of the work being undertaken by our club secretary Shane Kelly in recent months to secure the FAI’s club mark for 2026, the refresh and updating of the club’s safeguarding statement and policies are now live on the club website.

Having a safe environment for the children coming through the gates of our community park and ensuring that they have the best possible experience throughout their time with the club, allowing them to develop as players and people is our number one priority.

Every adult connected with the club, including coaches, volunteers, parents and guardians have a responsibility in achieving this goal and we ask that you all take the time to review the various documents including the safeguarding statement and codes of conduct that are relevant to you.

The SAFEGUARDING section contains key documents, statements and policies to provide our coaches, volunteers and parents / guardians with an overview of expectations, responsibilities and guidance on safeguarding our members.

If you have questions on any aspect of the policies, please contact your age group coach, a member of the Committee or the club’s Child Officer Shane Kelly (strandcelticsecretary@gmail.com) with any safeguarding concerns.

Our POLICY section includes codes of conduct for coaches and parents as well as our players, the youngest of whom we simply ask that they:

·         Have fun
·         Play fairly
·         Always try their best
·         Respect: teammates, opponents, coaches and referees

We will be providing an overview of the policies above, our club ethos, aims and objectives as well as an update on development and opportunities for volunteering as part of a Parent's information sessions that will be taking place on Friday evening 7th November and Saturday afternoon 8th November next.  Times to be confirmed but they will take place in and around Soccer Sisters on Friday and the Academy on Saturday.

Finally, the club are extremely grateful for all the work done by Shane Kelly on the FAI Club Mark and to Stephen Whelan and Michael Delaney for their assistance in finalising the policies and getting them on-line.
