We have had a lot of problems with our pitches this season and our surface has deteriorated significantly. This required major remedial works this summer.

Our grounds committee have done unstinting work to keep the pitches playing through the season. Our grounds committee contracted Corbett Groubdcare to undergo a total overhaul of both pitches this week. This involves verti-draining, top dressing and overseeing.. they were also fertilised already and will require another round of fertiliser. They will also require a full weed treatment schedule.

the project will cost in the region of €15,000. all of the cost must be found from club funds.

our pitches will be closed for a minimum of SIX weeks. we are asking club members snd people to please respect this. It is vital that the pitches have a complete break to ensure the new grass can germinate. you will see signs appear in the next few days to notify people of the closure of our pitches.

Our target is to get 200 people so that we can service the debt on the park development and continue to improve the facilities.

The draw takes place each month and winners will be contacted by phone with results published across the club’s social media channels.

The park development draw supports the bank loans which the club have taken on to develop and maintain the community park in Strandhill. The club has invested €1.3m in the park since its inception and has recently completed a €250,000 project which includes a floodlit community walkway, spectator facilities and convert the park into an environmentally friendly park - called ECO Park.

The 50/50 draw is very simple. 50% of the income is paid out in prize money each month ! This is unusual as it is a high percentage but the club wants to ensure good prize money for those joining the draw.
